Auschwitz I

These are the gallows where people were hung as examples for all the prisoners to see. They were origally built to hang 12 people who supposedly knew and helped 3 prisoners escape.

The building on the right of the gates is the building where most of the torture took place. It was the site of the first gasing. They put 750-850 (I forget which one) in the basement and testing the chemical that they later used in all their gas chambers. The basement was also were they had prison cells, standing cells, and starvation cells to discipline prisoners. The gates open to the alleyway where those sentenced to death were shot. The picture of the wall is a replica of the wall that the prisoners were placed in front of before being shot. It was built to protect the brick wall from any blood, bullets, ect. (evidence).
